Maria Klaudia Rondon

Maria was born in Miramar, FL to Maritza De La Torres and Juan Carlos Rondon on May 5th, 1997. She lived in Philadelphia for the first years of her life and moved back to Miramar, FL in 1999. She went to Silver Shores Elementary for Pre-K and Somerset Academy Charter Schools for kindergarten and beyond. At the age of 7, she was blessed with the birth of her beloved brother Jean Carlos who she loved very much. In her childhood, Maria enjoyed playing tennis, practicing piano and spending time outdoors.

Maria started middle school in August 2008 and graduated high school in May of 2015. During this time, she took care of many pets, made lifelong friends and developed a passion for animals, music, books, movies, and television. She was an avid fan of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, the DC and Marvel Universe, and so much more. These interests flourished in her adulthood as she began pursuing her secondary education at Broward College in 2015. Maria earned her Associate of Arts from Broward College and was accepted into the University of Florida in 2017 as a Veterinary Science major. She was a devoted student of the Animal Sciences department, participating in several extra-curricular events such as the Meats Judging Club. In 2019, she moved back home to realize a career in nursing with the support of her family.

Maria was a creative and passionate person. You could often find her listening to Mac Miller or Joji while painting or rollerskating. Maria's favorite foods were Chick-Fil-A, hotdogs, crossaints, Hi-Chew, Twix, and mediterranean cuisine. When she wasn't reading, watching anime, or playing piano, she travelled the world, sharing her light with over 10 states and 8 countries. She spoke Spanish, English, and conversational French, having visited France several times in her life. Maria was strong, caring and loyal in all her relationships, always eager to lend a helping hand. She was an advocate for peace and was proud of her Cuban heritage and queer identity. Above all, Maria is remembered as a beautiful, kind, and gentle soul.

Maria Klaudia Rondon, 24, departed this life February 25, 2022. Her life was celebrated on March 1, 2022 at Joseph A. Scarano Funeral Home in Pembroke Pines, FL. She is survived by her mother Maritza, her father Juan Carlos, her brother Jean Carlos, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
